OUR CREATIVE TEAM

QUI FACIT VIVIT: WHO MAKES LIVES

Located on the banks of the historic Red River at 447 St. Mary’s Road in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the Anvil Tree workshop was forged on the site of an old family welding business in the leafy neighbourhood of St. Vital.

We bring over 30 years of combined knowledge, skills and experience in architecture, fine arts, education and fabrication to our work.  We have over a decade of involvement in special building projects and art installations, including the initiation of the internationally acclaimed “Warming Huts Competition of Art and Architecture on Ice”, held annually at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.

From our collective experience, a vision has grown for a company and a place where creative ideas, craftsmanship and fabrication might intersect.  Thus, we take on projects and installations that incorporate wood and metal materials, as well as all others besides.  We design and build from the ideas stage right through to the final product, using both traditional and digital methods.

OUR STORY

Our Vision

At Anvil Tree, the act of making is central to the creative process and leads to opportunities to address social and environmental concerns through art and design, both broadly and locally.

We firmly believe in the beauty of collaboration and surrounding ourselves with master makers and artists, with access to maker/studio space and workshop facilities.

Curiosity and a growth mindset fuel our collective imagination - we love to hone our skills, learn new handcraft and technology, and consider new opportunities.
